Hope for Canadian workers, unemployed and students in the 2009 budget

Whatever else I may have thought about yesterday's budget announcement, I can't deny there's a lot of good news there for Canadian workers looking for retaining.

For the unemployed, $1 billion dollars will go toward training delivered through the Employment Insurance program (current budget is $1.95 billion). This means 100,000 more Canadians will be able to receive training in the next two years.
On top of that, a further $500 million will be allocated for those needed long-term retraining, ...
